Gujarat Weather: Red Alert in Sabarkantha and Banaskantha as Heavy Rain Expected Overnight

Gujarat Weather conditions have intensified across several parts of the state, with the India Meteorological Department issuing different rain alerts for districts across North Gujarat, Central Gujarat, South Gujarat and Saurashtra. Sabarkantha and Banaskantha have been placed under a red alert, with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall continuing until around 1 am.

The latest weather warning has put several districts on alert as the monsoon remains active across Gujarat. While some areas are expected to receive very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, other parts of the state may see light to moderate showers.

Red Alert for Sabarkantha and Banaskantha

Under the latest Gujarat Weather forecast, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha are among the districts facing the highest level of rain warning. Extremely heavy rainfall is possible in parts of these districts, particularly during the night.

Aravalli and other areas of North Gujarat are also expected to experience significant rainfall activity. Residents in areas that are vulnerable to waterlogging, flooding or disruption of roads have been advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rain.

The red alert indicates that rainfall could be substantial enough to create problems in low-lying areas and affect normal movement. Local authorities are therefore keeping a close watch on the situation.

Orange Alert Issued for Patan, Mehsana and South Gujarat

An orange alert has been issued for Patan and Mehsana in North Gujarat. Several districts in Central and South Gujarat are also under an orange alert, including Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and Dang.

These districts could receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, according to the weather forecast. People have been advised to exercise caution, particularly in areas where roads are prone to water accumulation.

Residents are also being encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall and to follow instructions issued by local authorities.

Yellow Alert Across Several Central Gujarat Districts

Several districts in Central Gujarat have been placed under a yellow alert. These include Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Dahod and Chhota Udepur.

Rainfall in these areas is expected to be less intense compared with districts under red and orange alerts, although isolated heavy showers cannot be ruled out. People should continue to monitor local weather updates as conditions can change quickly during the monsoon.

Light to Moderate Rain Expected in Kutch and Saurashtra

The Gujarat Weather forecast also indicates the possibility of light to moderate rainfall across Kutch and several parts of Saurashtra. Districts such as Morbi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Amreli and Gir Somnath may experience showers.

Some locations, particularly low-lying areas, could receive heavier spells of rain. Residents in such areas are advised to remain alert if rainfall becomes intense within a short period.

Meanwhile, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar and Junagadh in western Saurashtra have been placed in the green zone. No major weather threat has been indicated for these districts at present, although light showers may occur in some locations.
