India’s WTC Campaign So Far
India began its current WTC campaign under captain Shubman Gill with a five-Test tour of England.
The series ended 2-2, with India winning two Tests, losing two and drawing one. India lost the opening Test at Leeds by five wickets but responded strongly in Birmingham with a massive 336-run victory.
The third Test at Lord’s ended in a 22-run defeat for India, while the fourth match at Manchester was drawn. India then finished the series on a positive note by winning the fifth Test at The Oval by six runs.
India returned home and produced a dominant performance against the West Indies, winning the two-Test series 2-0.
The first Test in Ahmedabad ended in an innings-and-140-run victory for India, while the second Test in New Delhi was won by seven wickets.
However, India’s campaign suffered a major setback against South Africa.
The defending WTC champions defeated India 2-0 in the two-Test home series. South Africa won the first Test in Kolkata by 30 runs before producing an even bigger victory in Guwahati, where India suffered a 408-run defeat.

At this stage of the championship, Australia leads the standings with 84 points and an 87.50 points percentage. South Africa is second with 75.00%, followed by New Zealand at 72.22%.
