The death toll in the Bhavnagar Lattha Kand has risen to 13 after two more people died during treatment on August 23. The latest fatalities have added to the growing concern over the suspected illicit liquor tragedy in Bhavnagar, with five deaths reported over the past two days.
One of the latest victims was 35-year-old Mukesh Damor, a native of Bugad village in Santarampur taluka of Mahisagar district. Damor had been undergoing treatment at Sir T Hospital in Bhavnagar and was kept in the intensive care unit because of his critical condition. Despite continued treatment, he died on Saturday.
The second victim was Bhargavbhai Upadhyay, who lived in Sagwadi area of Kaliyabid in Bhavnagar. Upadhyay was employed with a private bank and had been receiving treatment at a private hospital. He also died during treatment.
According to the available information, three other patients are still undergoing treatment at government and private hospitals in Bhavnagar.
Bhavnagar Lattha Kand: Mukesh Damor Was Working in Bhavnagar
Mukesh Damor, who was originally from Bugad village in Santarampur taluka, had been living and working in Bhavnagar for the past several years. The 35-year-old worked as a machine operator at Hitachi.
Damor was also the father of two young children. His family includes a six-month-old son and a two-year-old daughter, making his death particularly difficult for his family members.
According to the information available, Damor had consumed liquor with a friend before August 18. His health subsequently deteriorated, after which he was taken to a private hospital for treatment. As his condition became serious, he was later admitted to Sir T Hospital, where he was treated in the ICU. However, he could not recover and died during treatment on August 23.

With the deaths of Mukesh Damor and Bhargav Upadhyay, the total number of people who have died in the Bhavnagar Lattha Kand has reached 13.

The case has also resulted in 13 people being named as accused. Their names and locations are as follows:

Three Patients Still Under Treatment
The Bhavnagar Lattha Kand has continued to remain a serious concern as several affected people have required hospitalisation. While the death toll has now reached 13, three patients are still receiving treatment in Bhavnagar’s civil and private hospitals.
The latest deaths have further increased the seriousness of the incident. Authorities are expected to continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the consumption of suspected illicit liquor and the chain of people allegedly involved in the case.
